Founder of AEO
I have been working as an Ocularist for over 20 years at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital after completing my training in the late 1990’s. I specialise in fabricating and fitting artificial eyes, cosmetic shells, facial prostheses, manufacturing gold and platinum eyelid weight implants and carrying out serial socket expansion on paediatric anophthalmic and microphthalmic patients. I particularly enjoy working with children as, although they can be the most challenging cases, they are often the most rewarding.
As one of the founder members of the Association of European Ocularists, it was our aim to bring Ocularist colleagues together from around Europe to share knowledge, ideas and experience to improve the care of our patients. Over the years it has developed into something beyond all of our expectations and into something that I am extremely proud to be a part of.
